My role with the team is a Steps to Cope Project Worker. I support young people across Northern Ireland through the service, taking them through the 5 step programme. As well as this I work with other people such as youth workers and other support agencies to deliver training so they can use the Steps to Cope model to help other young people too.
I have worked in a variety of roles helping children, young people, adults and their families. I have been a volunteer counsellor supporting children and young people, a mentor and support worker for young adults with learning disabilities and most recently a Project Coordinator. There I supported hard to reach young people with learning disabilities, their carers and families, some of which had challenges with their mental health as well as difficulties with alcohol and substance misuse.
Interests and hobbies:
I love gigging and travel far and wide to pursue my musical heroes. I also enjoy movies, getting to the cinema whenever I can and volunteering with festivals and such. I’m also a bit of a geek and enjoy a good comic book over a tasty cup of coffee.
What makes me unique:
I have an encyclopedic knowledge of music and film – Ask me anything! I have also been known to jump out of aeroplanes…
